Côte d’Ivoire’s JOURIE 2026 launches with focus on digital education transformation
The Journées ouvertes pour l’utilisation de la recherche et de l’innovation en éducation (JOURIE 2026) kicked off today in Abidjan, bringing together educators, researchers, and policymakers to explore how digital solutions can reshape Côte d’Ivoire’s education system. Hosted at the École nationale supérieure de statistique et d’économie appliquée (ENSEA), the two-day event is organized by the Ministry of National Education, Literacy and Technical Training (MENAET).
Under the theme « Transforming education through digital innovation: sustainable solutions for quality learning », JOURIE 2026 aims to bridge the gap between academic research and classroom practice. The initiative highlights how digital tools can enhance teaching quality, improve equity, and strengthen performance across schools, colleges, and universities.
Dr. Inza Meité, Director of Studies, Strategy, Planning and Statistics (DESPS), emphasized that the forum provides a rare opportunity to assess how scientific findings and technological advancements can directly inform educational policies. “This gathering isn’t just about showcasing research—it’s about ensuring that every decision made in education is grounded in solid data and rigorous analysis,” he stated. The event encourages collaboration among researchers, educators, innovators, and policymakers to identify practical, scalable digital solutions for Côte d’Ivoire’s classrooms.
Addressing the audience on behalf of the Education Minister, Technical Advisor Kouadio Kouman underscored the government’s commitment to evidence-based reform. “Digital technology is not just an accessory—it’s a strategic driver of change,” he said. “By integrating digital tools into education, we’re not only modernizing our schools but building a more inclusive and high-performing system.” He added that JOURIE 2026 serves as a platform to discuss critical issues such as infrastructure development, teacher training, policy governance, and equitable access to learning resources.
The two-day program features presentations of research findings, live demonstrations of educational technologies, and panel discussions on systemic challenges in education. Organizers hope the event will inspire new partnerships and accelerate the adoption of digital solutions across Côte d’Ivoire’s education sector.
