President Ouattara celebrates record financial mobilization exceeding 47 trillion FCFA
Côte d’Ivoire has achieved an unprecedented financial milestone, securing a pledge of 80 billion US dollars, equivalent to 47,820 billion FCFA — nearly four times the original target of 11,138.2 billion FCFA. This landmark announcement was made by President Alassane Ouattara following the conclusion of the National Development Plan (NDP) 2026-2030 Consultative Group meetings held in Abidjan on July 8 and 9, 2026.
The two-day event brought together over 2,000 investors from 49 countries, including high-level representatives from financial institutions, investment funds, banks, employers’ organizations, public and private enterprises, and key development partners. Their collective commitment underscores the global confidence in Côte d’Ivoire’s economic resilience and long-term growth trajectory.
A transformative development agenda
The NDP 2026-2030 outlines a bold vision: to build a Great Nation that is stable, ambitious, and united. With a total investment volume of 114,838.5 billion FCFA (approximately $209 billion) over five years, the plan places the private sector at the heart of the country’s economic and social transformation, accounting for 70.2% of funding.
Six strategic priorities to drive progress
The plan is structured around six key priorities, each designed to accelerate Côte d’Ivoire’s development:
- Peace, security, and stability: Ensuring a safe and enabling environment for growth.
- Agriculture and agro-industry: Boosting productivity and value addition in the sector.
- Private sector development and industrialization: Fostering innovation, competitiveness, and job creation.
- Human capital: Investing in education, skills training, and healthcare to empower the workforce.
- Strategic infrastructure: Enhancing connectivity through roads, energy, and digital networks.
- Good governance and state modernization: Strengthening institutions and transparency for sustainable progress.
Ambitious economic targets by 2030
To achieve upper-middle-income status within this timeframe, Côte d’Ivoire has set ambitious macroeconomic goals: a GDP per capita of $4,500 and a poverty rate below 20%. These targets will require coordinated efforts across all sectors of society.
From pledges to tangible impact
President Ouattara emphasized the government’s commitment to translating financial commitments into real outcomes for all Ivorians. The focus will be on delivering more schools, hospitals, roads, jobs, and shared prosperity. “Our collective responsibility is to ensure these investments translate into tangible progress for every man, woman, and child in Côte d’Ivoire,” he stated.
As the nation advances, the emphasis remains on unity, confidence, and determination. “Together, we will continue building a Côte d’Ivoire that is ever more prosperous and united,” he concluded.
