Chad has launched a robust campaign to tackle human trafficking, with a strong focus on protecting vulnerable groups such as women and children. Authorities have issued a formal directive to law enforcement and judicial bodies, emphasizing strict adherence to existing anti-trafficking laws.

Human trafficking remains a severe violation of human rights, often involving heinous crimes like sexual exploitation and forced labor. As a signatory to the United Nations Convention against Transnational Organized Crime since 2009, Chad has enacted key legislation, including Ordinance No. 006/PR/2018 and Law No. 12/PR/2018, to combat this scourge.

Under the new measures, security and judicial officials are required to conduct swift investigations, document findings meticulously, and ensure all cases are promptly forwarded to appropriate courts. Additionally, all reports must be reported to the General Secretariat of the Ministry of Justice and the National Anti-Trafficking Commission for thorough monitoring and follow-up.

Provincial delegates are tasked with ensuring these directives are implemented without exception. The initiative aims to establish a comprehensive national database, laying the groundwork for a more effective and coordinated anti-trafficking strategy across Chad.
