At the National Assembly of Cameroon, Secretary-General André Noël Essian presided over the formal induction of more than 20 high-ranking officials appointed by President Théodore Datouo.

Following the commencement of the second ordinary session for the 2026 legislative year, Secretary-General André Noël Essian led the installation ceremony for over two dozen senior executives. These key figures had been designated by President Théodore Datouo.

These newly appointed high-level personnel are set to assume their responsibilities within the National Assembly’s services, specifically in the questure and the general secretariat. Their official entry into these vital roles within the national representative body marks a significant development.

Since his election to the presidency of the National Assembly in March, succeeding Cavaye Yeguié Djibril, Deputy Théodore Datouo has been actively involved in numerous appointments. However, these nominations have generated considerable public discussion, with some critics expressing concerns that the regional balance was not adequately considered in his selections.
