Burkina Faso leads UEMOA in health budget allocation for 2026
In the UEMOA region, one country stands out in health investment. For the 2026 fiscal year, Burkina Faso is allocating a record 11% of its national budget to healthcare, totaling 388 billion FCFA out of a 3,432 billion FCFA budget. This allocation is unprecedented in the regional bloc, placing Ouagadougou ahead of its peers and aligning closely with international health spending recommendations.
