Brest to pay tribute to Éric Roy as PSG match approaches

Three months after the tragic loss of Éric Roy, Stade Brestois 29 will honor the legacy of their former coach during the Ligue 1 clash against Paris Saint-Germain on matchday four.

The Stade Francis-Le Blé will witness an emotional moment when Brest faces Paris Saint-Germain on September 13, 2026. The club has decided to dedicate the match to Éric Roy, who passed away on June 17. « Stade Brestois 29 hopes this tribute will reflect the lasting impact Éric Roy had on the club and the deep affection he inspired among his family, friends, team members, and the entire Brest community », the club stated in an official announcement.

Initially, the club had planned to organize this tribute during earlier home fixtures. However, logistical challenges prevented the desired gathering of fans. The Quimper stand’s closure, due to a prior incident involving pyrotechnics during the Toulouse match, further complicated arrangements. Brest’s management ultimately chose to postpone the homage to ensure a fitting celebration of Éric Roy’s memory in front of their supporters.
