Young Moroccan midfielder signs long-term deal with German club
The VfB Stuttgart have activated the permanent transfer clause for 22-year-old attacking midfielder Bilal El Khannouss, bringing an end to his successful loan spell from Leicester City.
During his debut Bundesliga campaign, the Moroccan international made 41 appearances across all competitions, contributing nine goals and seven assists. His consistent performances earned him a spot in Morocco’s 2026 FIFA World Cup squad, where the Atlas Lions will face Brazil in their opening match on June 14.
El Khannouss’s football journey began at Anderlecht before he rose to prominence at Genk. After his stint in England with Leicester, the Moroccan talent has now established himself in Germany’s top flight. His achievements include lifting the Africa Cup of Nations, claiming a continental U23 title, and securing Olympic bronze, positioning him as one of African football’s most exciting prospects.
