At just 18 years old, Lucas Herrington is on the verge of making footballing history Down Under. The young defender, who has already established himself as a key figure for Australia’s Socceroos during the 2026 World Cup, is finalizing a groundbreaking transfer that would see him join Hull City in England’s Premier League.

According to insiders close to the negotiations, Hull City’s owner Acun Ilicali has personally expressed strong interest in securing Herrington’s services, emphasizing the club’s commitment to building a competitive squad for their top-flight return.
Born in Brisbane on September 5, 2007, Herrington’s rise to prominence has been meteoric. Even before the World Cup spotlight, European giants like FC Barcelona and Liverpool had already taken notice of the prodigious talent emerging from Brisbane Roar’s youth academy. His performances in Qatar, where he stood out as one of the tournament’s most composed defenders despite his tender age, have only intensified that interest.
If finalized, Herrington’s move would make him the sole Socceroo plying his trade in England’s top flight next season.
