Arsenal faces Coventry City in opening Premier League clash of 2026/2027

The Premier League’s 2026/2027 campaign is set to kick off with an intriguing opening weekend, headlined by newly promoted Hull City’s test against Manchester United. Everton will host Crystal Palace, while Ipswich Town—another promoted side—will travel to Sunderland in their top-flight return. Nottingham Forest will welcome Leeds United, and Brentford will face Tottenham Hotspur.

On Sunday, August 23, Brighton, featuring Maxime De Cuyper, will take on Aston Villa, victors of the Europa League and led by Youri Tielemans and Amadou Onana. Manchester City, yet to name a permanent successor to Pep Guardiola, will begin their title defense against Bournemouth. Newcastle United will face Liverpool in a high-stakes opener.

The first weekend concludes on Monday the 24th with the West London derby as Fulham and Chelsea clash.

Among the season’s marquee fixtures, the Arsenal vs Chelsea London derby on September 5 promises an early season blockbuster. The following weekend, Manchester United and City will renew their rivalry in the Manchester derby. Liverpool’s clash with United is penciled in around November 21, while Arsenal will host second-place Manchester City at the Emirates Stadium on November 28.
