Algerian prime minister concludes official mission to Niger following power plant inauguration

Prime Minister Sifi Ghrieb departed from Niamey this Wednesday, marking the conclusion of a high-level diplomatic visit to Niger. The centerpiece of the trip was the official commissioning of the AlgeriaNiger Solidarity Power Plant, a facility with a 40-megawatt capacity.

This major energy project was provided as a gift from Algérie to the République du Niger, standing as a symbol of the deep-seated fraternal ties and cooperative spirit between the two nations. The initiative is specifically designed to support Niger‘s developmental goals and modernize its essential energy infrastructure.

Representing President Abdelmadjid Tebboune, Sifi Ghrieb co-presided over the inauguration ceremony alongside the Nigerien Prime Minister, Ali Lamine Zeine Mahaman. The event celebrated the successful delivery of this strategic infrastructure, which is a direct outcome of bilateral energy cooperation.

During his stay in the capital, the Prime Minister was received by the President of Niger and Head of State, General Abdourahamane Tiani. In their meeting, Sifi Ghrieb delivered fraternal greetings from President Tebboune and reiterated Algérie‘s steadfast commitment to enhancing solidarity and mutual growth.

At his departure from Niamey International Airport, the Prime Minister was bid farewell by his Nigerien counterpart and the Algerian Ambassador to Niger, Ahmed Saadi.
