
Air Sénégal strengthens its fleet with a new Boeing 737-800

Air Sénégal proudly announces the integration of a new Boeing 737-800 into its expanding fleet. This significant acquisition, entirely supported by the Senegalese State, underscores a strategic commitment to national air sovereignty and enhancing the capabilities of the country’s flagship airline.
According to the General Directorate of Air Sénégal, this addition represents a crucial advancement in the ongoing modernization of its aircraft fleet and the broader development of the company’s operations. The new Boeing 737-800 is poised to bolster Air Sénégal’s operational strength and solidify its market presence across both regional and international routes.
Tidiane Ndiaye, the Director General of Air Sénégal, commended the unwavering support from the State. He emphasized that this acquisition reflects the profound confidence of public authorities in the airline’s vision and its considerable potential for future growth.
Beyond its regular commercial duties, the new aircraft is earmarked for a special, symbolic mission. It will be deployed to collect the flame for the Dakar 2026 Youth Olympic Games, marking an unprecedented moment as the first Olympic event ever to be hosted on the African continent.
To commemorate this historic occasion, the Boeing 737-800 will feature a distinctive livery adorned with the official Dakar 2026 JOJ branding. Air Sénégal aims to transform this aircraft into a vibrant flying ambassador, showcasing Senegal’s global aspirations and contributing to the nation’s international prestige through this landmark event.
